Antisera Production Laboratory

This Laboratory was established during the year 1960. The main function of this laboratory is to raise species specific antisera against all animals as well as human. For this purpose, an animal house facility had been operational from the very beginning i.e. in the year 1960. These immunoprecipitating sera were mainly raised in rabbits, sometimes in gueniapigs and hens or cocks. The antisera raised are against cow, sheep,goat, buffalo, dog, fowl, pig, snake, rabbit etc. and human. Raising of these antisera depends on availability of blood of all these animal species. These antisera which are quality reagents had much demands from different central forensic science laboratories, state forensic science laboratories, medical colleges, hospitals, universities, WHO Central Research Institute, veterinary and dairy products Institutions in the country.
